The Jefferson County School District is a 1:1 Google for Education district. Our schools utilize Google Workspace apps to enhance student learning in the classroom and beyond. We focus on digital citizenship to empower generations to come as well as the Digital Literacy and Computer Science Standards (DLCS) in order to support student voice. The JEFCOED Technology Department strives to support the success of our schools and to ensure that learning is a student-driven process of exploration, creativity, and discovery in a safe and secure environment.

Online Safety in Jefferson County Schools
The Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA) was enacted by Congress in 2000 to address concerns about children’s access to obscene or harmful content over the Internet. Our district requires that schools must provide for educating minors about appropriate online behavior, including interacting with other individuals on social networking websites and in chat rooms and cyberbullying awareness and response. In order for Jefferson County to meet the CIPA requirements for E-Rate funding, it is required that each student receive instruction in the area of internet safety.
