Welcome to Shades Valley High School! I am honored to serve as your principal and to lead a school dedicated to excellence and innovation. Since my tenure began in July of 2019, I have been committed to fostering an environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
With over two decades of experience in education, I have had the privilege of serving in various leadership roles, from assistant principal positions at Saks High School, Hueytown High School, and Clay-Chalkville High School, to principal roles at Minor Middle School and now here at Shades Valley. My journey began as a business education teacher at Pittman Middle School and Oxford High School, and this foundation has shaped my vision for preparing our students for future success in a dynamic world.
At Shades Valley High School, we ARE Accountable, Respectful, and Empathetic! Together with our dedicated faculty and staff, we strive to be a model 21st Century school providing diverse pathways for students to excel in a global society.
Thank you for your continued support as we work together to ensure the success of every student. Go Mounties!
Sincerely,
Taki Sarhaan, Principal
