As America prepared to hit the polls for our Presidential Election, Brighton Schoolâs scholars participated in a mock Election Day! Students presented their IDs to our poll workers and were verified as being mock registered voters. After they were given ballots, scholars were allowed inside the polling place to fill in their ballots. Lastly, our scholars put their ballots into the ballot boxes and were given voting stickers! This was such a fun way for our scholars to experience the voting process.
The candidates for our mock election were based on well like treats our students enjoy, Takis and Snow cones. Students could only choose one to reign as the most popular snack of Brighton School. Mr. Harrison, Ms. Reed, and Mrs. Owens counted the ballots not once, but three times to ensure that the victor was valid. The top choice may surprise you!
Snow cones received 104 votes and Takis received 179 votes. Takis won the election fair and square! There were no miscounts or invalid ballots. Congratulations to all you Taki eaters out there! Your tasty snack is now a school favorite here at Brighton!
We want thank and shout out to Ms. Reed for planning and organizing our mock elections. Thank you goes out to Mrs. Davis for arranging our poll workers for the day. We also send a HUGE shout out to our volunteer dads who served as our voting workers today! We appreciate you Mr. Smith, Mr. Wilder, and Mr. Dawson for making the mock elections a fun process for our scholars! Jefferson County Schools #vote #Election2024 #mock
