Dear Bryan Elementary Family,
It is with mixed emotions that I write this letter. Today will be my last day serving as your principal. The board of education has recently approved my promotion to become the Director of Magnet Schools for the district.
This is a brand new position that has been created. You’ll be hearing more about the launch of the magnet programs in the coming months, as the district looks to create more educational opportunities for students. I am tremendously excited and honored that I was chosen to oversee this new initiative. However, I am also sad to leave my Bryan family.
Working with you all the last seven years has been a true honor! To our dedicated faculty and staff, thank you for your efforts and the support you have given to me. To be one of the highest scoring schools in our district is a testament to your dedication and commitment. To our students, thank you for all the hard work!. You guys are one of the biggest reasons that Bryan Elementary is an “A” school. Finally, to our parents, thank you for the partnership in making our school what it is today. I sincerely appreciate the trust you put in me, and I have never taken it for granted.
I am excited about what is ahead for Bryan. The district will begin the search for a new principal immediately. In the interim, Mr. Randy McCarty will serve as the administrative liaison for our school. He will be at the school starting Monday March 31st. If you don't know Mr. McCarty, let me just say that you will be in great hands! He retired a few years ago as principal of Oak Grove Elementary. Since then he has served in an interim capacity at several JEFCOED schools.
While I will no longer be here in the building, please know I will still be watching from a distance and cheering you on! So keep up the good work! Have a great spring break!
All the best,
Ms. Christy Hamilton
