Jefferson County Schools is proud to announce that both Bryan Elementary and Bryant Park Elementary have been named among Alabama's 2024 Science of Reading Spotlight Schools. This prestigious recognition, awarded by the Alabama Reading Initiative, honors schools that have demonstrated a strong commitment to K-3 learners, and have achieved growth in proficiency and sufficiency that exceeds the state average.

At our recent board meeting, awards were presented to Principal Christy Hamilton of Bryan Elementary and Principal Cortney Slaughter of Bryant Park Elementary. Their leadership, alongside the dedication of teachers, reading specialists, and parents, has been instrumental in fostering strong foundational literacy for our young learners.
